Der Verein trans urban wirft bei seinem neuesten interkulturellen Projekt die spannende Frage auf, wie Wohnkulturen im globalisierten 21. Jahrhundert in Europa und Indien aussehen könnten. Es ist davon auszugehen, dass durch Umwälzungen in der Bevölkerungsstruktur, in der Arbeitswelt und in sozialen Beziehungen künftig sowohl hier wie dort vollkommen neue Wohnformen entstehen und dass der gegenseitige Austausch darüber für beide Seiten befruchtend sein kann.

Die Hauptaktivitäten des Projekts fanden im Februar und März 2010 in verschiedenen Städten Indiens statt, wo sich europäische und indische ArchitektInnen, FotografInnen und KünstlerInnen in Workshops, Präsentationen und Ausstellungen mit dieser Thematik beschäftigten.

Nun werden in Wien in einer multimedialen Ausstellung einige Ergebnisse des Projekts - Bestandsaufnahmen und Visionen - in Form von Fotografien, Videoaufnahmen und Kinderzeichnungen präsentiert.

Zusätzlich wird die in Ahmedabad und Mumbai gezeigte Foto-Ausstellung „AT HOME - Austrian Cultures of Living" über österreichische Wohnkultur präsentiert.

Das Projekt „2050 - CULTURES OF LIVING" wird gefördert vom EU-Kulturprogramm (2007-2013)

PROGRAMME NOTES

With its latest intercultural project, the organisation trans urban raises the fascinating question of how ‘cultures of living’ in Europe and India will change in a globalised 21st century. It can be assumed that upheavals in demographic structures, the world of employment and social relations will give birth to entirely new residential forms in both places, and that mutual exchange on the subject can be beneficial to both sides.

The project’s main activities took place during February and March 2010 in a number of Indian cities, where European and Indian architects, photographers and artists immersed themselves in the issues during workshops, presentations and exhibitions.

Now a selection of the project’s works – samples providing perspective and overview - in the form of photographs, video clips and children’s drawings – is presented in Vienna in a multimedia exhibition.

In addition, the photo exhibition “At Home – Austrian Cultures of Living”, which was shown in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, is being presented.

The project “2050 – CULTURES OF LIVING” is supported by the EU Cultural Programme (2007–2013)
